Army Service Corps Mechanical Transport Companies
Alfred Frederick Joslin was born in Warley in 1883, his father Frederick was a gardener and the family later moved to Brook Street. Married Rosina Frost from Bath at the end of 1914.
In May 1901, aged 18, he joined the Royal Field Artillery at Warley Barracks. He was in Bath in 1914 when he married Rosina Frost, and in 1915 he was in the Army Service Corps Mechanical Transport Companies, serving in the first world war.
He was mentioned in the newspapers in 1916 by his mother-in-law, who was proud to tell the story of her five sone and one son-in-law who were all serving in the war. It would seem that, fortunately, they all survived the war.
Alfred later lived in Bath, where he worked as a taxi driver. He died there in 1955.
